Its distribution is from the north of Mexico to the north of Argentina and Peru. You can find them in the savannah, forests, dry and humid chaparrals up to 1,000 meters (3,300ft) above sea level..

Details
The male adults reach 50-100kg (110-220lbs) and the females are usually a third less than the males. They reach between 157-242cm (5ft2in-8ft) long and their base color is a brownish yellow and their backs are white. The central part of their bodies has black marks, which are distributed throughout their entire body. Its fur is short; the head, shoulders and front legs are strong, allowing them to trap their prey.
