Details
The chinchillas doesn't weigh more than 750 grams, and reaches only 20cm (8 inches) in length. They have enormous, mysterious eyes and large whiskers that act as a guide during their numerous nocturnal voyages. Their bodies are small and pudgy, and their back legs are longer and more developed that their front leges. They have special fur that is thick and incredibly soft. A characteristic that seperates them from other rodents is how much longer they live, often reaching 15 years old.
