Located in
the southern part of the Cordillera Blanca (White mountain range),
this group of hills is one of the most beautiful places of the Peruvian
Andes. Because accessing the range is very difficult, it has
remained untouched. Among its peaks, the most remarkable is the
Yerupaja (6,634 meters/21,759 ft above sea level), the second highest
mountain of the country. It is ideal for practicing mountaineering
and trekking. In addition, there are several lagoons of incredible
beauty in the area (Carhuaconcha, Viconga and Jahuacocha), with
warm valleys and rich wildlife.
